
It is more than six weeks since the primary election and more than three months before the general election. Yet one thing hasn’t changed: Streets are lined with political signs.
I understand that candidates need to get their names out there, but there should be limits on the time these eyesores are allowed to exist in our communities. I would think that one month prior to the opening of early voting would be sufficient. As for after the election, there should be a requirement that all signs be removed within two weeks. Perhaps imposing fines would get these candidates to do something really positive for their constituents.
