I’m thankful for the Review-Journal’s May 3 story regarding Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford’s comments on the long-standing right-to-work legislation on the books in Nevada. That story gives a clear picture of what we, as citizens of Nevada, could expect if Mr. Ford were elected governor in November.
Nevada legislators, 75 years ago, made Nevada a right-to-work state, and we have never looked back. But Mr. Ford wants to repeal that law and would sign such a measure if legislative Democrat sent him a bill to that effect. The last session of the Legislature, which is majority Democrat, would surely have taken up such a bill but didn’t because of Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo.
In a convoluted example of gaslighting, Mr. Ford said repealing the right-to-work law would help restore workers rights. Huh? It’s not surprising that Mr. Ford, who is backed by the unions, would love to give Big Labor the gift of forcing union membership. But don’t insult our intelligence.
