The Chargers are not only an angry team coming off an ugly opening-game performance, but also are essentially in a must-win situation even this early in the season. Their next seven games on the schedule are brutal, including five road games against the top five Super Bowl favorites on the betting board. The Raiders should see their best effort and that’s probably enough.

The Raiders were at a talent advantage Week 1 against the Dolphins and will be at a talent disadvantage Sunday at SoFi Stadium.

There is zero chance the Chargers look like they did last week. Nobody with their talent can be that bad this soon after such a poor performance. Maybe the Raiders take a page from the Arizona playbook and figure out the best way to attack the Chargers. But even with a short-passing game executed by Kirk Cousins, the Raiders likely don’t gave enough on both sides to overcome what is a touchdown favorite.

The most impressive part of the Raiders’ victory over the Dolphins last week was how calm starting quarterback Kirk Cousins appeared. The Chargers will provide twice the pass rush as the Dolphins offered. The Chargers are also going to want to regain their swagger after losing to the Cardinals last week. The Raiders are better, but not good enough to stop a ticked-off playoff-bound team.

The Raiders looked solid last week behind Kirk Cousins at quarterback, but they were playing one of the worst teams in the league. So that’s a factor, too. The Chargers have big aspirations this season, so they will be eager to turn things around after last week’s loss. And they frankly can’t afford to lose to a rebuilding franchise like the Raiders considering the Chargers’ upcoming schedule.
