In-N-Out Burger may be famous for its Double-Doubles, Animal Style fries, and not-so-secret menu, but the thing everyone can’t stop talking about right now isn’t food at all.

The popular fast-food chain has revealed just how much its store managers make, and the number has folks ready to trade in their current careers for a paper hat and apron.

According to KTLA 5 News, an In-N-Out spokesperson told Inc. that store managers now earn more than $200,000 a year on average. The impressive salary is up significantly from 2018, when managers were reportedly earning an average of $163,000 annually, according to Forbes.

KTLA 5 News shared the story on TikTok, and commenters didn’t hold back.

“Somebody pass me that paper hat,” one person joked in the comments.

“So why am I in college?!?!” Kylie added.

“Sign me up,” Maria wrote.

“That’s great, good for them!” @Richard commented.

But those lucrative positions aren’t jobs people can just walk in and apply for. In-N-Out promotes its store managers from within, with employees starting as hourly associates and advancing through training and development. According to KTLA, the average store manager has been with the company for about 15 years.

And while that $200,000-plus salary is certainly enough to get people’s attention, the paycheck isn’t the only perk of working for the popular burger chain.

According to In-N-Out, eligible full-time restaurant associates and their dependents have access to medical, dental, and vision coverage. The company’s benefits package also includes profit sharing and a 401(k) plan after eligibility requirements are met, along with educational assistance, life insurance, pet insurance, and a gym membership discount.

Then there are a few perks that make working around all those burgers sound even better. Restaurant associates receive free meals while working and a 15 percent discount at the company’s store.

Paid time off also grows along with an employee’s time at In-N-Out. Full-time associates accrue two weeks of vacation during their first five years, three weeks after six to 10 years, and four weeks once they reach 11 years with the company. They also accrue six sick days per year.

Even part-time restaurant associates receive benefits that include dental and vision coverage, pet insurance, educational assistance, and, after meeting eligibility requirements, profit sharing and a 401(k) plan. They also accrue paid vacation based on hours worked.

Perhaps more importantly for anyone eyeing that $200,000-plus manager salary, there’s an actual path to get there. With opportunities to advance and pay increases along the way, an hourly job at In-N-Out can ultimately lead to one of those lucrative management positions.

Suddenly, that paper hat is looking pretty good.
