Bishop Gorman’s girls volleyball team, No. 1 in the Review-Journal’s girls volleyball rankings, opened its season with a 25-22, 25-17, 21-25, 25-9 home victory over No. 4 Centennial on Tuesday night.
Boyana Pesic had 14 kills and 12 assists for Gorman (1-0). The Gaels are the three-time defending Class 5A state champion.
Gorman next hosts Arbor View at 6 p.m. Aug. 25. Centennial (5-2) hosts Desert Oasis at 6 p.m. Aug. 25.
