The BBC has released an explosive documentary, “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret,” and Las Vegas is a specified location in the film.
The documentary chronicles sexual assault allegations made by several women against Leto, the Oscar-winning actor in “Dallas Buyers Club” and frontman for the rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars.
Las Vegas is featured in the doc as the site of an alleged 2002 incident, in which a woman using the pseudonym Isabel claims Leto sexually assaulted her in a motel bathroom. She was 17 at the time, working at a mall, and says Leto lured her to a “dingy, gross motel,” where the alleged assault took place.
On Thursday morning, in response to an RJ inquiry into the allegations, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police confirmed: “There have been no sexual assault reports filed against this individual in LVMPD’s jurisdiction.”
The 54-year-old Leto said in a statement released by his representatives to the BBC: “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”
In the BBC project, four women have accused Leto of unlawful sexual assault between 2002 and 2016.
Leto and Thirty Seconds to Mars have performed several shows in Las Vegas dating back to 2005. Most recently, the band played the Las Vegas F1 Grand Prix in November 2023. They were also in the lineup at the When We Were Young festival the previous October. Leto was among the dozens of celebs who attended Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in February 2024.
