Those lights you saw north of the Las Vegas Valley on Friday night weren’t fireworks.
They were the product of a severe solar storm that has hit the Earth, producing colorful northern lights that were seen across much of the northern U.S.
The spectacle was seen in the Kyle Canyon Road area along Interstate 11 by motorists and residents in the far northwest valley.
A storm produced a similar light show in November.
