A man has been arrested in an animal cruelty incident after a horse being dragged by a white pickup truck was later found dead in the east valley.
In a statement, the Metropolitan Police Department said Guadalupe Camarillo Guarneros, 62, turned himself in Friday at Metro headquarters and was taken into custody.
He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of willful/malicious torture, maiming, or killing of a dog, cat, or animal, police said.
Neighbors said the dark-colored horse with white markings was found dead near a residence on the 1300 block of Ringe Lane last Saturday, police said.
Investigators had been asking for the public’s help in identifying the owner of the horse and the driver of the white single-cab pickup truck.
