Some flights headed to Harry Reid International Airport were delayed on average by almost three hours on Friday amid staffing issues, according to the FAA.
“Due to staffing … there is a Traffic Management Program in effect for traffic arriving (at) Harry Reid International Airport,” according to an airport status information update by the FAA’s Air Traffic Control System Command Center. “This is causing some arriving flights to be delayed an average of 2 hours and 52 minutes.”
Departing flight schedules may also be affected, according to the FAA. The FAA also said arrival traffic is experiencing airborne delays of up to 15 minutes.
The FAA encouraged travelers to check with their specific airport and airline for destination-specific delays.
An airport spokesperson couldn’t immediately be reached. Real-time flight updates for arrivals at Harry Reid showed most flights being delayed. Many departing flights also were being shown as delayed.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
