A Las Vegas man has been arrested on accusations he sexually abused a 13-year-old girl in California, authorities said.
Juan Carlos Hernandez-Alcala, 19, was arrested by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department detectives in Victorville, California, on June 6. A press release posted by law enforcement on social media said Hernandez-Alcala was arrested after a man contacted the girl through a social media messaging app, then traveled to Victorville repeatedly to sexually abuse the girl.
“Detectives believe Hernandez-Alcala also had explicit conversations with other minor females,” the sheriff’s department said, adding that they’ve released Hernandez-Alcala’s mugshot because “there may be additional victims.”
Hernandez-Alcala was booked at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas. He remained housed there without bail Friday afternoon as California authorities pursued extradition.
