As summer heats up, the Summerlin master-planned community is turning up the excitement with a lineup of fun family-friendly events, according to Danielle Bisterfeldt, senior vice president, marketing and consumer experience.

“The next few weeks in Summerlin are action-packed, and we invite the entire Southern Nevada community to join us for Battle for Vegas, the Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade and the Summerlin Sounds concert series at Downtown Summerlin,” she said.

Battle for Vegas returns for its seventh year June 27 at Las Vegas Ballpark in Downtown Summerlin. Vegas Golden Knights winger Reilly Smith is back to captain Team Knights, while tight end Brock Bowers will captain Team Raiders. The annual showdown brings together top athletes from the Knights and the Raiders for a night of competition, entertainment and giving back — battling for bragging rights while supporting local nonprofits.

Gates open at 6 p.m., followed by a Home Run Derby presented by the Athletics at 7 p.m. and first pitch at 8 p.m. Fans can expect a flyover, appearances from popular mascots such as Chance, Spruce the Goose and Aviator, and a postgame fireworks show presented by Century Gaming Technologies.

Since its launch in 2019, Battle for Vegas has raised more than $1.2 million for local nonprofits. Proceeds from the 2026 event will benefit the Battle for Vegas Foundation, with specific nonprofits to be announced. Tickets start at $40. For tickets and more information, visit battleforvegas.com.

The Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade, now in its 32nd year, returns July 4 at 9 a.m. in all its red, white and blue glory as an official America 250 Nevada event. With more than 70 entries, including floats, marching bands, military and veteran groups and professional sport team participation from the Vegas Golden Knights, Las Vegas Raiders, Athletics and Las Vegas Aviators, the Patriotic Parade is set to dazzle as the valley’s largest Independence Day parade.

Title sponsor is Howard Hughes Communities, developer of Summerlin. For a map of the route and more information, visit summerlinpatrioticparade.com.

Downtown Summerlin’s popular summer concert series, Summerlin Sounds, presented by GHOST, returns to The Lawn every Wednesday evening through July 22 starting at 6 p.m. All concerts are free and open to the public. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for a fun, casual and entertaining evening under the Summerlin sunset. Pick up dinner from one of Downtown Summerlin’s many restaurants before the show and sit back and relax. Guests can also purchase specialty cocktails from La Neta Cocina y Lounge and Pancho’s Mexican Restaurant — available at The Lawn. For details and performer line-up, visit Summerlin.com.

In its 36th year of development, Summerlin offers more amenities than any other Southern Nevada community. They include 10 golf courses; 26 public, private and charter schools; Roseman University College of Medicine, a public library and performing arts center; Summerlin Hospital Medical Center; more than a dozen houses of worship representing multiple faiths; office parks and neighborhood shopping centers.

Downtown Summerlin offers fashion, dining, entertainment, Red Rock Resort and office buildings. City National Arena is home of the Vegas Golden Knights’ practice facility. The Las Vegas Ballpark is a world-class Triple-A baseball stadium and home of the Las Vegas Aviators.

Summerlin offers over 110 floor plans in 20 neighborhoods throughout seven distinct villages and districts. Homes, built by many of the nation’s top homebuilders, are available in a variety of styles — from single-family homes to townhomes, priced from the $400,000s to more than $1 million.

For information on all actively selling neighborhoods, visit Summerlin.com. Before you visit, call the builders for their hours of operation. Phone numbers for each neighborhood are listed on the website.
