Nancy Brune could win re-election outright to her Ward 6 seat on the Las Vegas City Council, receiving well over 50 percent of the vote in the nonpartisan contest.

Nancy Brune, the incumbent, previously worked as a policy researcher and consultant. Her closest rival, Steve Grammas, is a former Metropolitan Police Department officer and police union representative.

David Marlon is a health care CEO and founder of Vegas Stronger, a nonprofit that provides services to people experiencing homelessness.

Brune received 57.2 percent of the vote, while Grammas received 30.1 percent.

In the Ward 2 race, Luke McCarthy and Shannon Nordsrtrom secured the highest vote totals and advanced to the general election, defeating Marilyn Booker.

McCarthy received 36.8 percent of the vote, followed by Nordstron with 32.4 percent.

Both Marilyn Booker and Shannon Nordstrom are attorneys. Luke McCarthy is a veteran firefighter.

The Ward 4 race was uncontested, with incumbent Councilwoman Francis Allen-Palenske running unopposed.
