Incumbent U.S. Rep. Susie Lee and Republican Marty O’Donnell won their primary races for Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District.
November’s general election race will pit Lee, D-Nev., against the potential Republican nominee, whom President Donald Trump endorsed.
Lee had garnered 73 percent of the vote after 10 p.m. Her closest contender, James Lally, had obtained 17.6 percent of the vote.
Lee took to X to celebrate the victory Tuesday night.
“I’m honored that southern Nevadans have placed their trust in me to continue fighting for them in Congress,” she wrote in part. “I look forward to winning re-election and continuing to defend and support Nevadans.”
O’Donnell, who had about 43.8 percent of the vote in preliminary results, was besting Tera Anderson by nearly 20 percentage points.
Lee was the most vulnerable Nevada congressional incumbent in the 2024 General Election, staving off a challenge by Republican Drew Johnson, who fell short by just over 10,000 votes that November.
O’Donnell placed fourth in that Republican primary. Johnson is running for Nevada treasurer this time around, leading Jeff Carter in that primary by 1.1 percentage points.
Shortly after he received the coveted Trump endorsement, O’Donnell was one of two Nevada Republicans placed in the National Republican Congressional Committee’s MAGA Majority program, which directed resources to their campaigns.
O’Donnell is an award-winning composer who founded a commercial music and sound production company. He is a former audio director and composer for the developer of the popular “Halo” games.
He also thanked voters on social media after the race was called.
“The contrast between Susie Lee and myself couldn’t be more,” O’Donnell wrote. “Together, we are going to beat her and continue delivering a secure border, a resilient economy, safe streets, peace through strength, and good old-fashioned common sense.”
He added: “It’s officially GAME ON— from now until November 3rd.”
