A representative of the Primm family said Thursday an announcement is likely within a week about a new partner to take over the hotels, casinos and other assets of the small community on the California-Nevada border, south of Las Vegas.
Cory Clemetson, president of Primm landowner Primm South and grandson of Primm founder Ernie Primm, said several prospective partners have made proposals to operate the resorts and other amenities that are the first places they see when they cross into Nevada from Southern California.
Clemetson did not disclose the names of potential new partners, but added they are familiar names with a record of success in the state.
“We met them very early in the process, behind the scenes and out of the public eye, and we’ve had several meetings with really what many would consider top tier, you know, longtime successful Nevada hotel-casino operators,” Clemetson said. “We’ve had some really great discussions and I don’t want to guarantee it, but hopefully within a week or less, and maybe in the coming days, we’ll have an announcement on a group that I think people will be very happy to hear. It’ll be a very legitimate group that’s done very well here for a long time.”
