The Vegas Golden Knights look for the road sweep Thursday when they face the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Knights rallied for a 5-4 victory in Game 1 of the best-of-seven series as Tomas Hertl scored the winning goal with 3:24 remaining in the third period.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
How to watch
If you’re planning to watch Game 2, here’s everything you need to know, including options for viewers affected by the ongoing DirecTV blackout.
There’s been no reported movement in the dispute that caused KTNV-TV, Channel 13, to go dark on the satellite provider Sunday evening.
Room for improvement
It took 12 minutes and a two-goal deficit for the Golden Knights to find their game in the series opener on Tuesday.
Once they did, their game looked similar to how it was the first three rounds. Aggressive forechecking. Winning puck battles. Cycling from low to high.
But the Knights know they need to be better despite finding a way to steal home-ice advantage.
Killer instinct
You can’t imagine how big a 2-0 series lead heading back to Las Vegas would be in the grand picture of a Stanley Cup Final. Confidence won’t be lacking for the Knights. They have plenty of it.
A little killer instinct, like they showed in the Western Conference Final against Colorado, would help writes Ed Graney.
