Star tight end Brock Bowers will make his season debut for the Las Vegas Raiders in Sunday’s game against the Saints at Caesars Superdome.
Bowers missed the first two games of the games of the season after undergoing a procedure to trim the meniscus on his left knee.
While he’s one of the best tight ends in the league, the Raiders have started 2-0 without him and coach Klint Kubiak cautioned against making too much of his return.
“He’s one of 11 guys out there,” Kubiak said. “I’m counting on everybody to pull their weight for this game and for all games. We’re counting on him the same way we’re counting on every other player, all the same.”
Bowers is officially active for the game. Third quarterback Aidan O’Connell is not. He remains away from the team as he mourns the death of his father.
Kubiak declined to reveal who would be the emergency quarterback should Kirk Cousins and Fernando Mendoza become unavailable on Sunday.
Defensive end Kwity Paye was also questionable for the game due to illness, but he will play.
Rookie defensive back Treydan Stukes is out with a concussion.
Cornerback Darrell Luter Jr., safety Dalton Johnson, offensive lineman Bryce Cabeldue and defensive lineman JJ Pegues are also inactive for the Raiders.
Wide receiver Cody White was activated from the practice squad for the third consecutive week.
