It turns out Dont’e Thornton Jr. is bound for injured reserve after all.

The Las Vegas Raiders second-year wideout will miss at least the first four games of the season amid placement Monday on injured reserve, a day after the 53-man roster was unveiled. Thornton hasn’t practiced the last few weeks despite optimism he’d play during the preseason.

Tre Tucker, Jalen Nailor, Jack Bech, Malik Benson and Dareke Young count as healthy receivers for Las Vegas. Thornton as a rookie last year in 15 games had 10 receptions for 135 yards.

In a corresponding transaction, the Raiders signed linebacker Segun Olubi, who participated in training camp — after playing the last four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts — but wasn’t named to the initial 53-man roster. A special teams standout who blocked a punt while playing against the Raiders last season, Olubi has 50 career tackles, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

Olubi joins Nakobe Dean, Quay Walker, Tommy Eichenberg and Cody Lindenberg in the Raiders linebacking corps.
