The Las Vegas Aces will be without forward NaLyssa Smith for the remainder of the season after the team announced Thursday that she suffered a season-ending non-contact injury to her left leg during the Aug. 23 victory over the Toronto Tempo.
Smith’s absence was expected after she missed the Aces’ first practice following their one-game road trip, and teammate Steph Talbot indicated the injury would keep her sidelined in the short term.
The Aces have now confirmed that one of their starting forwards and the WNBA’s field-goal percentage leader will miss the final five games of the regular season and the playoffs.
The former Dallas Wing, who joined the Aces in a 2025 trade, averaged 11.8 points and 6.4 rebounds over 37 games this season.
Smith played a significant role in the Aces’ 2025 championship run, averaging 7.1 points and 5.0 rebounds over 12 playoff games to claim her first WNBA championship while the franchise hoisted its third league title in four years.
The team did not provide additional details on the nature or severity of Smith’s injury.
