This week’s poll features four players who posted standout performances during the week of Aug. 17-22.
Voting will close at noon Thursday. Results will be reported on Friday.

Here are this week’s nominees:
Olivia Gastwirth, Palo Verde girls soccer
The junior racked up four goals and an assist Tuesday in the Panthers’ 12-0 rout over Bonanza. The standout forward logged six goals and two assists in the opening week of action.
Averie Gidge, Sierra Vista girls volleyball
The sophomore recorded 20 kills, seven digs and three blocks Thursday in a four-set victory over Legacy. She has 92 kills and 41 digs through eight matches this season.
Aaliyah Jones, Las Vegas High girls volleyball
The senior logged 24 kills, seven digs and three aces in the Wildcats’ 3-1 victory over Cheyenne on Wednesday. She leads Las Vegas with 83 kills this season.
Aislin McMahon, Sky Pointe cross country
The senior demolished the field at the Red Rock Running Company Invitational Saturday, winning the 5-kilometer race in 18 minutes, 15 seconds. She completed the course 35 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
