
Third baseman Hudson Cowley delivered a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to give Paseo Verde a 6-5 walk-off win Friday over Hamilton, Ohio, in their first game of the Little League World Series at Howard J. Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Paseo Verde trailed 2-0 and 5-2 before completing the rally. The Henderson-based team will face the winner of Tacoma, Washington, and Boerne, Texas, on Sunday.
The game was postponed Thursday due to inclement weather and pushed to Friday as part of an eight-game day for the tournament.
It was not televised or streamed on ESPN.
Paseo Verde pitcher Owen Guzman threw 52 pitches and gave up two runs before being taken out of the game with one out in the top of the second.
Guzman hit a leadoff single in the bottom of the sixth and scored the winning run.
Paseo Verde plated two runs in the bottom of the fourth, then got an RBI double from Maddox Bryan in the fifth to tie it 5-5 heading into the sixth.
Logan Edwards, the fourth pitcher for Paseo Verde on the day, escaped a bases-loaded jam in the fourth then turned a double play with two on and one out in the fifth.
