The Bishop Gorman football team will not have one of its expected top wide receivers this season.
Gavin Honore, who in December he said was transferring from Mater Dei (California) to Gorman, announced on his social media accounts on Monday that he was transferring back to Mater Dei.
“Excited to announce that I will be transferring back to Mater Dei for my senior season,” Honore wrote in a post on X.

According to a report from Rivals, Honore was not cleared to play by the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association ahead of Gorman’s season opener on Friday against Losee. Honore was practicing with the Gaels leading up to the opener.
The report from Rivals said Honore will be immediately eligible to play for Mater Dei.
Gorman, ranked No. 2 nationally by MaxPreps, hosts No. 1 St. John Bosco (California) at 7 p.m. Friday at Fertitta Field.
