A 27-year-old woman has died after a crash earlier this month in the south Las Vegas Valley, according to police.
The Metropolitan Police Department said in a news release Thursday that the crash occurred at 8:11 p.m. Aug. 2 on South Eastern Avenue south of Warm Springs Road.
Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated that the pedestrian, identified as a 27-year-old Las Vegas woman, was crossing outside of a marked crosswalk when the crash occurred.
A 2025 Toyota RAV4 was exiting a private drive when the vehicle failed to avoid the pedestrian and struck her, police said.
The pedestrian was transported to Sunrise Hospital, where she was pronounced dead Wednesday.
Police noted that the driver of the Toyota remained on scene, showed no signs of impairment and cooperated with the investigation.
