The Vegas Golden Knights have loaned first-round pick Juho Piiparinen to Finnish pro club Tappara.
Piiparinen, 17, was taken at No. 29 in this year’s NHL Draft. The Knights signed him to his three-year, entry-level contract on July 15.
The defenseman appeared in 29 games for the professional Liiga club after spending the last four seasons in the team’s junior program.
The loan will allow Piiparinen to continue to play professionally as he continues to develop, rather than immediately report to the Henderson Silver Knights. Piiparinen can participate in training camp with the Knights before being loaned back to Finland.
