
District Judge Jennifer Schwartz sentenced Jesus Barraza to a suspended sentence of 28 to 72 months for causing the death of a pedestrian (Thursday Review-Journal). Barraza’s probation included a curfew, restitution, maintaining employment, taking a driver’s safety class and completing 100 hours of community service.
Barraza was going twice the speed limit when his vehicle hit Devin Heath while he was crossing the street in a residential neighborhood. While Barraza is doing his community service, taking his driver safety class and maintaining employment, the family of their Mr. Heath will be visiting his resting place.
Midterm elections are in the near future. Before you walk into that voting booth and cast your ballots, know for whom you are voting. You do more damage voting with no knowledge of the candidates.
