LETTER: Where’s the outrage?

Recently, there was a violent episode that took place inside of a local Wal-Mart. The incident escalated to the point where a Metro officer had to shoot and kill an armed suspect. I read where at least one of the subjects involved in the initial altercation had quite a lengthy criminal background, including numerous felony arrests. The revolving door of the criminal justice system allowed for this individual to continue roaming the streets of society. Ultimately, one life was lost and another critically wounded.

I can’t help but wonder where is the outrage toward the soft-on-crime practices of our local judges and Nevada’s attorney general? Instead, the outrage is directed toward Gov. Joe Lombardo, who was given a warning after committing a minor traffic infraction. The vocal minority will cry “double standard” and demand “justice” over a traffic violation, yet they remain eerily quiet when their voices should be heard the most in holding our judges accountable for their liberal leniency.
