The Clark County School District will reimburse up to $1,000 in transportation assistance to select families with open enrollment students this upcoming school year, the district announced Wednesday.

Reimbursement will be available for families with kids zoned for a one- or two-star school in the 2024-25 school year who now attend a school rated three-stars or higher through open enrollment, the district said in a press release.

Additionally, parents must complete a form that confirms financial need and ensure their kids are not chronically absent, meaning they cannot miss more than 10 unexcused school days per semester.

Families interested in reimbursement can learn more and apply online at itsyourchoice.ccsd.net/transportation.

The district said families can receive a total of $1,000 in reimbursements, awarded in $500 payments at the ends of each semester. Funding for the reimbursement program is only secured through the 2026-27 school year, the district added.

“CCSD’s Open Enrollment program allows families to choose the school that works best for them,” Superintendent Jhone Ebert said in the release. “Now, thanks to funding from our state legislators and the Governor, CCSD is able to provide eligible families with financial assistance to help transport their children to 3-star, 4-star, and 5-star schools that have open seats.”

Families can apply for open enrollment seats until Aug. 21, and the application deadline for transportation reimbursement is Sept. 4.
