The Vegas Golden Knights have added former Colorado Eagles coach and NHL veteran Mark Letestu to Ryan Craig’s coaching staff, it was announced Tuesday.
The remainder of the Knights’ coaching staff from last year will return. That includes assistant coach Dom Ducharme, whose contract was set to expire Tuesday.
Letestu coached the Eagles to a 41-20-11 record in his only season with the team and reached the Western Conference Final before losing to the Chicago Wolves. Prior to that, Letestu was an assistant coach for the AHL’s Cleveland Monsters.
Letestu played 567 games across an 11-year NHL career. Six of those seasons came with the Columbus Blue Jackets, and two of those were played with Craig (2014-15).
The 41-year-old from Elk Point, Alberta, played for four teams during his NHL career, including the Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Winnipeg Jets.
