A Las Vegas dance coach is facing charges including sexual assault after police said he forced a 13-year-old boy to commit a sex act on him, and then forcefully performed a sex act on the boy a day later.
Gregory Chatman, 29, also sent sexually explicit messages, photos and videos via social media to the boy, according to a Metropolitan Police Department arrest report.
Chatman was arrested Wednesday and faces charges of two counts of sexual assault with a child under 14 and one count of lewdness with a child under 14. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and remains in custody there as of Monday, jail records show.
In early 2025, the boy joined a dance team called “Maximum Energy,” police said. There, he met Chatman, who was a coach on the team.
After joining the team, Chatman added the boy on Instagram, where police said he posted “thirst traps” and sent pictures and videos of himself using sex toys to the alleged victim.
In June 2025, Chatman hosted a “lock in” at the dance studio where the team practiced, the report stated. Those events entailed members of the team partying overnight at the studio. On the afternoon of the first “lock in,” police said, Chatman, the boy and “a few other team members” went to a McDonald’s, the alleged victim recalled in an interview at the Southern Nevada Children’s Advocacy Center.
At the McDonald’s, Chatman followed the alleged victim into the bathroom, and forced a sex act on the boy, the report stated. Chatman stopped the act, police said, telling the victim they needed to get food, but forcefully kissed the boy before they left the bathroom.
Once back at the studio, the members of the team danced into the early hours of the following day. When it was time to sleep, police said, Chatman placed his mattress next to the alleged victim’s, grabbed the boy’s hand and placed it on his penis.
The alleged victim woke up to everyone but Chatman having left the studio. Police said Chatman instructed the boy to follow him into his office at the studio, where he forcefully performed a sex act.
In April 2026, after months of building up the courage to disclose the incidents to those around him, the boy told his mother’s co-worker and her daughter what had taken place, according to the arrest report. When the victim’s mother returned from a trip, he also told her.
The boy’s mother later filed a police report.
The report stated that the alleged victim had taken pictures of the sexually explicit conversations he had with Chatman through social media, which continued until the police report was filed.
After he confronted with the social media conversations, Chatman denied they were his. He also denied ever sexually assaulting the boy and said that while he did host “lock ins” frequently, parents of the members of the team were always present.
