The UNLV football team received a commitment from Arbor View rising senior wide receiver Kai Cypher on Monday, according to Cypher’s Instagram account.
Cypher, listed at 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, choose the Rebels over Boise State, San Diego State, Colorado State and Sacramento State. Cypher is not ranked or rated among the class of 2027 recruits in the state by 247Sports.
As a junior last season, Cypher had 21 catches for 556 yards with six touchdowns to help Arbor View reach the Open Division state title game. Cypher has 64 catches with 1,478 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns in his high school career.
He is a two-time second-team selection on the Nevada Preps All-Southern Nevada boys track and field team, and twice has been an honorable mention on the All-Southern Nevada football team.
Cypher stars on a talented Arbor View offense with other seniors and Division I commits in wide receiver Damani Warren (Texas A&M), tight end Zac Fares (UCLA) and quarterback Thaddeus Thatcher (Oregon State).
