Las Vegas Aces star Chelsea Gray is taking her basketball acumen to the air and joining Prime Video as a player contributor.
Gray will join the WNBA on Prime studio team throughout the season to give on-court insight, game analysis and discuss key storylines from around the league, Prime Video announced Monday.
“Basketball is a big part of my life, and joining WNBA on Prime gives me a chance to share a different perspective with viewers,” Gray said in a statement. “I want those watching at home to experience what it’s like to be on the floor: the reads, the adjustments, and the small moments that can impact a game.”
Gray will join former Aces player and Women’s Basketball Hall of Famer Candace Parker, along with studio host Allie Clifton analysts Cynthia Cooper, Lindsey Harding, Teresa Weatherspoon, Swin Cash and Ty Young. Former Aces guard and current Los Angeles Sparks star, Kelsey Plum, will also serve as a player contributor this season.
Gray is a former first-round WNBA draft pick from 2014 and has been a part of the Aces’ three WNBA championship-winning teams. Last week she notched her 2,000th career assist, making her one of four players in league history to score at least 4,500 points and have 2,000 assists.
Gray has also been building her broadcasting career, joining the Sacramento Kings’ broadcast team for the 2023-24 NBA season and serving as a women’s college basketball analyst for the ACC Network.
“Chelsea’s résumé speaks for itself. Four championships. A Finals MVP. Two Olympic golds,” Amina Hussein, Prime Video Sports head of on-air talent and development said in a statement. “What excites us most is her authenticity and natural ability to connect with fans. Chelsea brings a genuine perspective that makes the game accessible to everyone, and we’re thrilled to welcome her to our team.”
