The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide in the east Las Vegas Valley on Tuesday night, the department said in a release.

Metro said it responded to a shooting call just after 4 p.m. on the 2600 block of South Bruce Street at Canyon Club Apartments. Police found a man with an apparent gun shot wound. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, the release said. There are no outstanding suspects.

Metro urged citizens to avoid the area, which is shut down for the duration of the investigation.
