Get ready for another round of windy weather in Las Vegas during the final week of May.
A wind advisory for Southern Nevada takes effect at 10 a.m. Tuesday and expires at 5 a.m. Wednesday. Expect southwest winds 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph, the National Weather Service said.
“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects,” the NWS said in a statement. “Tree limbs could be blown down and a pockets of blowing dust may develop. Dangerous boating conditions with enhanced wave heights are expected.”
Sam Meltzer of the weather agency said a cold front from the Pacific Northwest will arrive Tuesday, bringing the strong winds and driving down temperatures.
The forecast high for Tuesday is 92 degrees, but the highs for Wednesday and Thursday will drop to 80. The average high is 93.
Last week, minor wind damage was reported in the valley after heavy winds raked the region, impacting flights and the Electric Daisy Carnival.
But Meltzer said Tuesday’s storm system is “not as strong” as last week’s event.
