A man with prior drug- and robbery-related convictions was indicted Friday in connection with the overdose death of travel influencer Anunay Sood.

Thamrong Hill, 49, faces charges including second-degree murder, selling or transporting a controlled substance, and possessing a controlled substance with the intent to sell.

Clark County Deputy District Attorney Elan Eldar said Hill sold Sood what Sood believed was cocaine on Nov. 4.

Along with his fiancée and another woman, Sood had met Hill for the transaction on the casino floor at the Wynn Las Vegas around 4 a.m., authorities have said.

According to police, the group took the drugs and fell asleep. Hours later, the women found Sood unresponsive and without a pulse.

Police and firefighters administered five doses of naloxone — an emergency medication used to reverse opioid overdoses — but Sood was pronounced dead inside his room at 7:23 a.m.

Based in Dubai, Sood’s Instagram account, @anunaysood, has about 1.4 million followers, and his YouTube account, @AnunaySood, has more than 395,000 subscribers.

The coroner ruled that Sood died from fentanyl and alcohol toxicity.

Eldar sought a $500,000 bail for Hill, whom he accused of selling Sood the fentanyl that led to his death.

Chief Judge Jerry Wiese granted the request.

Hill, who prosecutors said has failed to appear in court more than a dozen times, has been in custody at the Clark County Detention Center since December on larceny and drug charges.

He had previously received a suspended sentence in that case but was later remanded after failing to appear for drug court, court records show.

In a separate district court case, Hill pleaded guilty to attempted possession of a controlled substance in January and was ordered to spend a year in jail.

Hill is due in court Thursday for arraignment.
