A high stakes poker player has been charged in Las Vegas with writing two bad checks totaling $300,000 at the Wynn Las Vegas, according to court records.
Ye Shen, 42, is charged with one count of passing a check without sufficient funds in the bank and one count of theft value $100,000 or more. The felony charges were filed against Shen on March 9. He was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on May 14, according to jail records. Shen was released on his own recognizance after completing a walk through at the jail.
The checks in question were written at the Wynn on Dec. 28, 2024, according to a criminal complaint.
Shen’s attorney, Michael Pariente, declined comment on behalf of his client Tuesday.
Shen’s date of birth listed in jail records is the same date of birth listed for international poker player Ye Shen on the Highroll Poker website. The website lists Shen’s nickname as “Tony Mars.” The website lists Shen’s net winnings as $520,665.
“Ye ‘Tony Mars’ Shen is a Chinese poker player from Shanghai, China,” the website states. “He’s a known regular at some of the highest stakes cash games around the world, and has appeared on popular broadcasts such as Hustler Casino Live.”
