The Tyree Wilson era is officially over in Las Vegas.
In a surprising draft day move, the Raiders dealt the former first-round pick to New Orleans along with a seventh-round pick in exchange for the 150th pick on Saturday. The Raiders selected Arizona safety Dalton Johnson with the pick.
Wilson was never able to find a sustained role with the Raiders after they selected him at No. 7 overall in 2023.
The former Texas Tech standout had 91 tackles and 12 sacks in 50 career games.
He was drafted as an edge rusher and has also spent time at defensive tackle in passing situations as they tried to find an effective use of his skillsets.
It just never consistently happened and now he will seek a fresh start with the Saints.
