A 10-year-old Las Vegas boy who died after he was struck by a vehicle near downtown on March 5 has been identified.
Simeon Young, according to the Clark County coroner’s office, died from blunt-force injuries.
Young was attempting to cross East Charleston Boulevard near 30th Street, east of East Fremont Street, when he was hit just before 7 p.m. on March 5, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Young was taken to a local hospital after being hit, where he died, police said. The driver of the vehicle remained close to the scene of the crash and did not show signs of impairment, police said.
According to a GoFundMe page created by Young’s family, over $4,200 had been raised for funeral expenses as of Wednesday night.
Tori Russell, Young’s aunt, said on the GoFundMe page that Young was a loving older brother and that he “had a way of making others feel included and cared about.”
