NEW ORLEANS — Jack Bech did not get a chance to create the happy homecoming moment he had hoped for at Caesars Superdome on Sunday.
The second-year receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders left the game against the Saints before halftime after fracturing his forearm.
Coach Klint Kubiak said after the 35-27 victory Bech would be further evaluated Monday back in Las Vegas.
Starting right guard Jackson Powers-Johnson suffered a groin injury late in the game and was replaced by Caleb Rogers. Kubiak had no additional update after the game.
The injury to Bech could lead to a stint on injured reserve, which would potentially open a roster spot for Cody White. He was called up from the practice squad for a third consecutive week and scored his third touchdown of the year on Sunday.
“There he is again,” Kubiak said. “All he does is work hard and produce. I’m very happy for No. 82. Glad we got him.”
Bech, a native of nearby Lafayette, Louisiana, did not have a catch.
The only pass thrown in his direction did not count as an official target because Saints safety Justin Reid was flagged for unnecessary roughness when he hit Bech hard after the ball had sailed over his head in the end zone.
He had a large contingent of friends and family in attendance at the game, which took place less than a mile from the scene of a New Year’s Day terror attack in 2025 in which his older brother, Tiger, was killed.
Bech had said he hoped to start “rewriting the wrong” in the city of New Orleans in his return.
