I’m curious as to the reason behind all these “excessive heat warnings” that kept popping up over the summer. It even got to the point of ridiculousness the other day when the ribbon at the bottom of my computer showed it was 91° while it also showed the “Excessive Heat Warning”. That temperature, at any time through September, is a relief.
As a lifelong Las Vegas resident, 110 degrees and even higher is called summer in Vegas. I recall what seemed like many 112 degree days at the end of the 1970’s when I was a very young carpenter working on framing tract homes. No real change in the years since and we worked out in it every day.
I recall being at Lake Mead as a teenager and hearing the park rangers discuss how it had officially hit 120° that day.
If you are going to live here, I sincerely hope you are able to acclimatize because it’s not going to change and it has nothing to do with Climate Change (unless it started at the beginning of the 1900’s).
Plus, I hope the National Weather Service ceases the warnings on days that are below 110° or it reduces their credibility.
