
Two robbery suspects were in custody after their vehicle crashed during a police pursuit that ended on Interstate 11 near Tropicana Avenue on Friday, shutting down multiple highway lanes, the Metropolitan Police Department said.
Metro was investigating a robbery with a deadly weapon reported at about 11 a.m. in the 1600 block of South Hollywood Boulevard near Charleston Boulevard, a police spokesperson said.
Police said an automated license plate reader flagged the suspects’ vehicle. Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled, leading to a pursuit that ended when the vehicle crashed on I-11 near Tropicana, Metro said.
The suspects were apprehended after a short foot pursuit, Metro said.
