In response to Mr. Beckman’s letter regarding ‘Name Games’ and President Trump’s re-naming of Lake Ontario to Lake America, I would kindly ask Mr. Beckman to look in the mirror.
For years we have been told to change our vernacular, choose different pronouns, and be politically correct in the eyes of those who expect us to conform to others’ standards. Meanwhile, the list of names of household staples, holidays, landmarks, and sports teams that have been changed because of someone else’s perceptions or sensitivities is endless.
Spare me the history lesson and give me a break.
