A day after reporting a death at Burning Man, festival organizers announced a second death on Saturday.
The Burning Man Project said in a statement that Craigh Mann, 60, was found dead by campmates at approximately 3 p.m. on Saturday.
“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the participant’s family, friends, campmates, and all those affected by this loss,” the statement reads.
The nonprofit announced the first death on Friday, releasing a statement that a man in his mid-50s experienced a medical emergency, was transported to an on-site center for emergency care but died despite life-saving measures. The attendee was not identified in the initial release as his next-of-kin had not been notified at the time.
The Burning Man festival is held every year in the Black Rock Desert, located 120 miles north of Reno. This year’s festival started on Aug. 30 and runs through Monday.
