The body of a woman found this summer in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area was the victim of a homicide, and police are seeking the public’s help with the investigation.
Kareamah Bey, 53, was found July 1, and the Clark County coroner’s office ruled that she was killed and her body had been left at the location about two weeks prior to her discovery, according to a Metropolitan Police Department release.
Police say that Bey was experiencing homelessness and was known to frequent the area of Belmont Street and Carey Avenue in North Las Vegas. It was believed that she was last seen in the 3100 block of Thomas Avenue, police said.
Detectives are asking anyone who knew Kareamah, had contact with her, or may have information about her whereabouts or activities prior to her death to come forward.
Additionally, anyone who was at Lake Mead National Recreation Area in mid-to-late June and may have witnessed anything suspicious near mile marker 15 is urged to contact investigators. Even the smallest detail may be important and could help investigators solve her homicide.
