Carsynn Meyer might know Williamsport, Pennsylvania, better than any of her teammates.
Two months ago, Meyer took part in the Maria Pepe Little League Baseball Legacy Series, where the best girl baseball players gathered to showcase their talents.
Now, she’s back in Williamsport, this time with Paseo Verde as one of two girls playing in the Little League World Series.
Meyer, 12, joins Alabama’s Kinley Rasmus as the lone girls taking part.
Rasmus set a Little League World Series record with her fifth hit, the most by a girl in the tournament. She’s also been one of Alabama’s top pitchers.
Meyer collected her first hit Sunday in Paseo Verde’s 5-0 win over Tacoma with an RBI single in the fifth inning.
Meyer joins a list of girls that have made waves in the Little League World Series, including Mo’Ne Davis and Ella Bruning.
