A Las Vegas man was arrested last week in connection with a killing that happened 18 years ago in San Francisco, according to police.
Derreyl Goode, 40, was arrested in Los Angeles on Aug. 17 with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Task Force, the San Francisco Police Department said in a press release announcing the arrest.
Goode is accused of shooting and killing Jason Mosley, a 28-year-old hotel desk clerk, on April 27, 2008, on the eve of Mosley’s wedding, the Bay Area-based outlet SFGATE reported Aug. 20. The outlet said Goode was supposed to marry his pregnant fiancee, Alejandra Lara, at San Francisco City Hall, three blocks from where he was killed.
Police said the department’s Cold Case Unit took over the investigation and learned Goode was living in Las Vegas. Investigators eventually obtained a warrant to arrest Goode for homicide, according to the release.
“Goode was transported to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, where he was met by SFPD Cold Case investigators,” the release said.
Online records showed Goode was booked into jail in Los Angeles on Aug. 17 on suspicion of murder and that he was transferred to the San Francisco County Jail system on Monday. Information about Goode’s court case was not immediately available.
