The Las Vegas Raiders got a somewhat positive update on star running back Ashton Jeanty late Sunday, hours after he was helped off the practice field at the team facility.
Jeanty is believed to have suffered a sprained ankle, according to reports.
It is unclear how much time Jeanty could miss, but he is believed to have avoided any long-term damage.
The Raiders declined comment on the situation.
Jeanty was helped from the practice field and did not appear to be putting any weight on his right leg as teammates took a knee in prayer around him.
He was injured when he and a defensive back both tried to go low to catch a pass in the flat from Kirk Cousins.
The injury took place during the team’s first indoor practice of training camp.
