Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty left practice Sunday afternoon at the team’s practice facility with an apparent right leg injury.
The second-year standout was helped off the field and didn’t put pressure on his right leg. Raiders players and coaches took a knee and prayed in silence.
Jeanty had run a route into the flat, turned to field an underthrown pass from quarterback Kirk Cousins and dove to catch it in the vicinity of cornerback Darien Porter.
The No. 6 pick in the 2025 draft, Jeanty is poised to play a featured role as a runner and pass catcher out of the backfield in first-year coach Klint Kubiak’s offense. Jeanty rushed for 975 yards and five touchdowns his rookie season, catching 55 passes for 346 yards.
Rookie running back Mike Washington Jr. has been Jeanty’s backup throughout training camp.
