The Metropolitan Police Department says two people were arrested in connection with an alleged fencing operation involving a Las Vegas business accused of buying and selling stolen goods.
The department said in a Facebook post Thursday that detectives developed information that a business near Spring Mountain Road and Decatur Boulevard was allegedly buying and selling stolen merchandise.
During the investigation, according to police, detectives gathered evidence involving the purchase and resale of stolen property, including clothing, toys, alcohol, jewelry and other merchandise.
The estimated value of the stolen merchandise was more than $100,000, but police said they “are still calculating and documenting the final total.”
Authorities noted in the post that the investigation also led authorities to a second location near Tropicana Avenue and Jones Boulevard, as well as a residence near Flamingo Road and Jones.
Police served search warrants at three locations on Wednesday.
“Major retailers assisted detectives with identifying and inventorying recovered property,” the post stated.
Detectives have served 12 subpoenas and authored 10 search warrants in connection with the investigation.
Authorities identified the two suspects as Thanh Nguyen and Kevin Hebbe. The pair face felony charges, including participating in an organized retail theft ring involving more than $10,000 and buying, possessing or receiving stolen property valued at $5,000 to less than $25,000.
