Pertaining to your July 24 story on the sale of the Howard Hughes Center and attempts to keep the sale price confidential:

The story notes that attorneys for the seller, from the law firm Duane Morris LLP, argue that the general public “has very little interest” in the details or purchase price. This is not true. Anytime there is a sale of this magnitude, it has an impact on potential sales of other office space.

There are not any valid reasons that sales price and terms should be confidential. It has repercussions for other possible office sales in our market, and the public has the right to know the sales price and terms of the sale.
