A 66-year-old Las Vegas man who was struck by a vehicle in the central Las Vegas Valley earlier this month has died, police said.
The Metropolitan Police Department said in a press release the man was walking across Sahara Avenue at Torrey Pines Drive at 7:49 p.m. July 3 when he was struck by a 2010 Mazda 3 driven by a 17-year-old girl from Las Vegas. The driver was making a left turn from a dedicated turn lane at the time.
The man was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. On Tuesday, the man died, police said.
The name of the man had not been released by the Clark County coroner’s office as of Wednesday morning.
Police also did not release the name of the driver, noting she is a juvenile. She remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.
Police said the collision remains under investigation.
