In response to Joseph Jensen’s recent letter declaring many Democrats to be communists. Mr. Trump tells his supporters what to say and believe, so that’s what they say and believe. He drives hatred. If there’s any question as to why there’s so much divisiveness in politics these days, one needn’t look any further than to the words of the president, the biggest mouthpiece in America.
I grew up despising everything communist. Nothing has changed, and I’m confident the vast majority of the Democratic Party feels the same. Socialism is not the same as communism, any more than conservatism is the same as fascism. The Republicans should pay more attention to where Mr. Trump is taking this country. He is in control right now and has all the power he needs.
